The Pod Bay Doors Podcast, Episode #104: All About My Mother (1999)

| July 1, 2019

This episode, Doug and Jerry close out Pride Month with Pedro Almodovar’s All About My Mother, a film that prominently features trans characters in pivitol roles. As sad as the movie can get, it all has a very positive tone and the trans characters aren’t used as props or comedic relief, they’re real people and are treated as such. All About My Mother won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and stands as one of Almodovar’s best works and remains a benchmark of LGBTQIA+ cinema.
