Hiroshi Inagaki’s Samurai Trilogy (1954-1956) | The Pod Bay Doors Movie Podcast, Episode #227

| January 17, 2022

This episode, Doug made Jerry watch The Samurai Trilogy with Toshiro Mifune from 1954, ’55, and ’56 for his samurai series of the year. This one follows the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto from humble and unlikely origins to living legend. This is clearly a labor of love for writer/director Hiroshi Inagaki, because this isn’t the first time he’s told this story on film, but it is the last and the best.
